Job Description
The Custodian is a self-starter, working autonomously and responsible for performing various tasks related to the cleaning and sanitation of the facility's common use and administration areas. As a food-grade production and packaging facility, attention to sanitation, disinfection, and cleanliness is mandatory for inspections, audits, assessments, and continued operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work independently to ensure facility remains clean and tidy at all times, following cleaning schedules and checklists
- Empty waste and recycling containers
- Dispose of all waste in the appropriate compactors
- Ensure all recycling goes to the cardboard compactor
- Dry and wet mop floors in all offices, lunchroom, hallways, stair wells, first aid room, and in miscellaneous rooms
- Sanitize / disinfect lunchroom: table tops, sinks and counters
- Clean inside and outside of microwaves
- Clean first aid room and sanitize sink and frequently contacted surfaces
- Wipe / dust tables, desks, and workstations that are free of items
- Windows and doors, spot clean as required
- Use auto-scrubber to clean hallways (training provided)
- Sanitize / disinfect washroom: sinks, taps, washroom fixtures, handles, urinals, toilet seats, toilet bowls, counters, dispensers and outside handwashing station
- Refill as needed: toilet paper, paper towel, liquid soap, sanitizer, etc.
- General daily cleaning duties
- Maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding information viewed in offices
- Provide information and forward any concerns to supervisor on a frequent basis
- Fill out the forms in the end of the shift for Quality Control
- Other duties as assigned
