Salade Etcetera! Inc. – Sherrington, QC

Inaugurated in 2007, the Sherrington packing plant now covers more than 200,000 ft2 of area. Twelve washing and packing lines work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to produce kits and mixed salad greens for our customers. More than 500 people get to work each day.

All the equipment is new and on the cutting edge of technology. Our packing lines are automated for a better quality product. They are especially equipped with advanced detection systems using infrared vision.

Production and shipping have complete traceability system. This enables us to track lettuces from field to store.

Finally the plant is located in the heart of farmland and we can immediately pack the harvested lettuce.

 
 

Salade Etcetera! Inc. – Belle Glade, FL

From 2000 to 2010, Salade Etcetera! Florida is a seasonal packing plant that operates only during the winter months. Since 2010, construction of the new packing plant in Sherrington and the significant increase in sales in Florida brings the Belle Glade plant into operation throughout the year.

The plant now covers an area of ​​60,000 ft2 and has 3 washing and packing lines. Approximately 60 employees work from 5 to 6 days a week.

 
 

CAMS Inc.

Founded in 1977 by the Subtil family, Cams Inc. is the largest onion producer in Quebec. Located in Sherrington, the company had, at the time, 1200 acres of cultivated muck soil and used more than 50 people during high season. Its specialty is producing carrots, onions and lettuce.

In March 2010, Vegpro International Inc. acquires Cams Inc., in order to optimize production, land use and crop rotation. Following the result of this merger Vegpro decides to completely renovate the packing plant.

Between 2012 and 2013, Cams gets a makeover. The building is completely renovated and the equipment is replaced with ultra-modern machinery. Now Cams has carrots and onions sorting lines that is the most advanced in the country with:

  • An optical sorting system unique in North America
  • A storage area for raw and finished products of more than 24,000 ft2
  • A specific humidification system to optimize the preservation of carrots
  • A new food grade compressed air system

True to its reputation, Cams today continues to distinguish itself by its careful handling:

  • Storage: One million ft3 of refrigerated warehouses available for fruits, vegetables and other non-contaminating product.
  • Sorting: A specialized workforce in sorting and repacking vegetable products.
  • Packing: A plant suitable for wrapping and packing a variety of products.
